Debloater tool for Windows applications

Bloatbox is a free utility made by indie developer, Builtbybel, for PC devices. It serves as a cleaner program that can be used to remove various applications on computers running the Windows operating system. With it, users can uninstall built-in or system apps easily using a unified interface.

Bloatbox essentially works in a similar way to programs, such as IObit Uninstaller and Revo Uninstaller. What makes it stand out from the crowd is the fact that it's a lightweight and portable program. Also, it offers more flexibility in the removal process that veteran users and system administrators alike will appreciate.

How do I use Bloatbox?

Bloatbox features a clean and simple UI that utilizes a three-column layout to display applications and for navigation. The first column to the left houses all your applications, which includes built-in Windows programs, those that were included by third-party manufacturers, and ones you’ve installed. The middle section has all the actions and options available to you. While the right side is where you'll drag programs you want to be uninstalled.

To add programs for uninstallation, choose one from the list, and click on the Add selected button in the middle, or you can simply add them all with the Add all option. Alternatively, you can just drag-and-drop them to the right column for removal. If you change your mind, you can use the Remove selected or Remove all buttons to exclude apps in the uninstallation process. Once set, press Uninstall.

Using Bloatbox is a rather simple and straightforward affair. There are a few things that could be improved, though, for better usability. For one, there are no descriptions for the apps in the list. Another is that the Remove and Uninstall labels are confusing and could be better worded to better differentiate between the two functions and avoid accidental actions.

A handy tool for removing bloatware

In summary, if you're looking for a program to help you remove and clean unnecessary bloatware from your PC, you should consider checking out Bloatbox. It's portable, easy to use, and does a great job of removing unwanted software from your system to free up storage space and possibly improve overall speed and performance.

Softonic

In Softonic we scan all the files hosted on our platform to assess and avoid any potential harm for your device. Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.

We’d like to highlight that from time to time, we may miss a potentially malicious software program. To continue promising you a malware-free catalog of programs and apps, our team has integrated a Report Software feature in every catalog page that loops your feedback back to us.

Flag any particular issues you may encounter and Softonic will address those concerns as soon as possible.
